I began my wedding business ‘The Whole Caboodle Design Ltd’ after graduating from DeMontfort University in 1996 with a BA (Hons) degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I set up my business designing handmade greetings cards for galleries and prestigious retailers including Libertys, Disney and the John Lewis Partnership. I later moved into the specialist wedding stationery field and as a leading stationer for the last 6 years, my work is regularly featured in the top bridal magazines.

So why baby stationery?
In October 2003, I had my first child. In the hours following the birth, my husband began the task of methodically going through our address book ringing friends and relatives to spread the good news about the safe arrival of little Thomas Ellis Burt. In the days that followed we wanted to also send out ‘birth announcement’ cards so that our friends had a permanent reminder of the event – name, date, time, weight etc.

I felt more under pressure than most to send out fantastic announcement cards, as stationery is my business and our friends would expect nothing less than the best! This made it extremely stressful and with so many cards to make, I thought they would never be done. When the last card was posted I swore that by the time that baby number 2 comes along – I would have my own collection to choose from, so here it is! Baby number 2, Emily Mae Burt arrived in August 2006...

My designs reflect the style for which I am known in the wedding business; they are contemporary, striking and are a million miles away from frills and flounces.
